Four groups representing the owners and operators of
the surface-transportation system in the United States- the National Association
of Counties, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation
Officials, the National League of Cities, and the American Public Transportation
Association - will hold a news conference Thursday regarding the urgent
need for final Congressional action by the end of the month on surface-transportation
reauthorization. Officers of each group will speak briefly and take questions
from the media.
