"Passage of H.R. 3550 is a step in the right direction
as the bill heads to conference. Given identified needs for public transportation
at $44 billion a year, conferees should fund the program at no less than
the $318 billion mark approved by the Senate. The House bill contains
several good policy proposals-guaranteeing funding, maintaining the current
federal share for new starts, and improving program delivery."
