Gulf Coast Initiative: Ride and Text for the Gulf Coast

For the last few months we as a nation have watched as tens of millions of gallons of oil has spilled relentlessly into the Gulf of Mexico threatening the complex marine ecosystems throughout the region, and subsequently affecting local livelihoods.  The American Public Transportation Association is asking you to join us as we are partner with the National Resources Defense Council to support their frontline recovery efforts with our Ride and Text initiative.

In addition to reminding your friends, families and communities that they can help reduce our dependence on oil, we are asking you to consider making a tax-deductible contribution to this new fund. Every dollar you give will go directly to the NRDC Gulf Coast Recovery Fund, which through emergency grants will reach Gulf Coast non-profit groups that are helping people, wildlife and fragile ecosystems to recover from this unprecedented disaster.

Individuals can simply text TRANSIT to 25383 to make a $10 donation to the fund.

We have also set up an online donation form - where the money goes directly to the NRDC Gulf Coast Recovery Fund.
